DESCRIPTION

TURIN, REAL ATMOSPHERES. Arrival in Turin and meeting with our Tour Leader for transfer and accommodation at the hotel. In the early afternoon you discover the ancient city of the Savoy Court visiting its main monuments, from Palazzo Madama to Palazzo Reale. You will linger in an elegant Bottega del Caffè to taste the Bicerin'd Cavour, Zabaione or Vermut Carpano and experience the refined atmosphere of places where great political figures made the history of Italy. Dinner in a restaurant with traditional cuisine by skillful dosage of aromas. Overnight at Hotel.

TURIN, FROM THE EGYPTIAN MUSEUM TO VINOVO PORCELAIN COLLECTIONS. Breakfast and visit to the Egyptian Museum with our guide to admire its collections. We find a wealth of art works that make it second to the world only after the Cairo museum. Brunch with the very famous Turin breadsticks, fine crispy and tasty bread sticks which date back to the end of the seventeenth century, a specialty of sweet and chocolate gianduia. We continue your visit to the Civic Museum that preserves beautiful examples of Vinovo porcelain, a production that emulated the refinement of the Vienna and Sèvres porcelains. But we also discover other examples of decorative art, such as the famous tapestries of the time. Dinner in a restaurant with agnolotti, whose filling is clearly different from ravioli for vegetables, roasted meat, parmesan cheese and eggs. Tasting the creamy fondue served hot and with a generous layer of truffles. Overnight at hotel.

LE LANGHE, LAND OF GHIOTTONI AND GREAT WINES. After breakfast, meeting with our guide and excursion to the Langhe. Through the colors of extraordinary landscapes, we reach Alba, a land of gluttons and great Italian wines. After a visit to the Cathedral of San Lorenzo and the Church of San Domenico, we climb the hills to visit the Castle of Barolo and discover secrets of the famous red wine with its unmistakable bouquet. We enter the cellar that preserves historic barrels, where Barolo is produced and our refined lunch is combined with the finest wines of production. Afternoon walk to lookout a panoramic view of the wonderful hilly landscape. Before returning, it will be a must to stop in a Dolciaria and taste the typical Torrone d'Alba, the Marrons Glacés and the Rum Cuneesi. Dinner in a restaurant with a menu based on real mushrooms and stuffed peppers. Overnight at hotel.

TURIN, THE ROYAL PLACES OF POWER AND PLEASURE. Breakfast and excursion to the Venaria Reale, the Royal Palace dedicated to the goddess Diana. During the visit to the magnificent complex nestled in a lush park, we discover the pleasure of court life. Our guide will show an enchanting and solemn path, among halls and galleries, stables and sumptuous eighteenth-century decorations. We can admire high expressions of the universal baroque and a succession of surprising fusions between architecture and landscape. Brunch with mixed fried and sweet, in a typical Turin restaurant. In the afternoon we move to Val d'Aosta, where the grandeur of the mountain takes on its most characteristic aspects. Arrival and accommodation at the hotel. Dinner in a restaurant with local food: from polenta to fragrant meats from alpine farms. Overnight.

AOSTA, ROMAN WALLS AND MEDIEVAL CASTLES. Breakfast and visit with our guide to the historical testimonies of Augusta Praetoria, the ancient name that the city acquired in honor of the Emperor Augustus. We explore surprising archaeological finds and buildings of architectural relief, such as the Forum, the Roman Theater and the Amphitheater. Continuing to the Cathedral with a Gothic-style and mosaic pavement. Then we visit the Treasure Museum and its rich collection of medieval statuettes. Lunch in a quiet trattoria with mountain gastronomic recipes including risotto, rigatoni and Valle d'Aosta ribs. Afternoon in the beauty of the mountainous landscape to discover some of the seventy-two castles of the region. We visit the Castle of Fénis with well-preserved frescoes, and then that of Issogne, with an original fountain in the shape of a pomegranate tree. Dinner with delicious Valdostan appetizers, such as the famous Teteun in raspberry sauce and balsamic vinegar, and excellent brandy. Continuing with trout prepared with grated lemon, raisins and diced salad, and desserts based on delicious apples. Overnight at Hotel.

ON THE LAKE MAGGIORE SHORES. Breakfast and departure for Stresa, to discover the charm of historic villas and gardens. Lunch in a gourmet restaurant with food from the valleys and full-bodied red wines. Free time for walks and boarding by motorboat for dinner, scheduled in a characteristic restaurant on Isola dei Pescatori. Return to the hotel and overnight.

CRUISE ON THE LAKE. After breakfast, we spend the whole day on a beautiful cruise ship to discover the Borromean Islands. Visit to Isola Bella, with its splendid Barocco Villa surrounded by Italian gardens, and Isola Madre with English gardens. Lunch based on fish and fresh tomatoes. Evening return and dinner, with other typical recipes as paccheri au gratin, stuffed with scallops, escalope of foie gras, broccoli pie, cod on pumpkin cream and famous desserts, such as Fugascine and Margheritine, created in honor of Queen Margherita di Savoia. Overnight at hotel.
