DESCRIPTION
CHIETI, SMALL SALZBURG OF THE ADRIATIC. Upon arrival you meet with our Tour Leader and transfer to the hotel in the ancient Teate, founded by the legendary Achilles. We will visit the National Archaeological Museum of Abruzzo that preserves precious Roman remains of the regional territory. Lunch at a tavern with delicious meat specialities, then we go on a walk among liberty style palaces to reach the historic Caffè Vittoria where we taste excellent cakes. Afternoon visit to the suggestive Castle of Roccascalegna, built by the Lombard in an excellent dominant position. Dinner and a chance to spend the night attending a Mozart concert in the magical atmosphere of squares and streets embellished by seventeenth century decorations in honour of the great musician.
FARA SAN MARTINO AND PESCARA. Breakfast and guided excursion to Fara San Martino, the town of pasta. We take part of an extraordinary experience watching the making of tagliatelle prepared with saffron in a small artisanal pasta factory, not far from where the famous pasta De Cecco is produced. We then reach Pescara for lunch in a restaurant with seafood specialities and Montepulciano d’Abruzzo local wine. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel. You will have the chance to attend a Mozart Concert.
VASTO AND PUNTA ADERICI NATURAL RESERVE. After breakfast an excursion to Vasto, the ancient Histonium founded by Diomede, where we find the ancient Roman Amphitheatre, the Baths with the mosaic of Neptune, the Archaeological Museum and Castle Caldoresco. Lunch at a typical coast restaurant with fish dishes seasoned with olive oil, tomato and chilli. In the afternoon we reach the Natural Reserve of Punta Aderici to admire sandy beaches alternating wild cliffs. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel. You will have the chance to attend a Mozart Concert.
