AGRIGENTO, THE IMPRESSIVE COMPLEXES OF ANCIENT GREEK TEMPLES. Arrival in Palermo, meeting with our Tour Leader and departure for Agrigento. Welcome cocktail and accommodation at hotel. At sunset, with our guide, you will discover the valley of the temples of the splendid Akragas, a vast archaeological area that represents the most important Doric-style architectural complex outside of Greece. A visit to relive in the poetic sentiment of Pindar, between the columns of the imposing Temple of Zeus and the picturesque colonnade of the Temple of Castor and Pollux. Free time and dinner in a restaurant with seafood specialties. Transfer to hotel for overnight.
AGRIGENTO, THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM, PORTO EMPEDOCLE AND THE HOUSE OF LUIGI PIRANDELLO. Breakfast at the hotel, meeting with our guide and visit to the Archaeological Museum. You will reach the destination through the hypogeum Giacatello, the Bouleuterion and the Agora. Through the vision of archaeological finds, which adorned temples and residences, you will enter the daily life of the ancient city to admiring the Temple of Hercules and the beautiful Temple of Concord, stylistic perfection of the Greek world. In the Temple of Hera Licinia, you will find even the traces of the fire set by the Carthaginians in 406 BC. Excursion continue towards Vigata (Porto Empedocle) to have lunch in a local restaurant and find the statue of Montalbano Police Inspector and you move on the footsteps of Camilleri fatastic characters to better understand the facts and the history of the island. Along pictoresque streets you will reach the Mannara, the lighthouse, the beach of Marinella and the Police station on Lincoln Street. On the way back to the hotel we will make a visit to the birth house of Luigi Pirandello, an Italian dramatist,novelist and poet. A place full of charm where, under a pine tree, his ashes are buried. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
