DESCRIPTION

RAVELLO: THE MAGICAL BEAUTY OF THE AMALFI COAST. You will arrive at the airport or at the train station in Naples and meet our Tour Director. You will be transferred by private car to Ravello and accommodated in the hotel. You’ll be welcomed in your room with a bottle of sparkling wine and flowers. Dinner will be at the restaurant where you will stay overnight.

THE BEAUTIFUL VILLAS OF RAVELLO AND HISTORIC ABBEY OF CAVA DEI TIRRENI. In the morning, together with our guide, you will get acquainted with this solitary and quiet town that overlooks a landscape of great beauty. You will find it enchanting and suggestive for its contrast between the rocky position and the seductive landscape with extremely bright colours, the rusticity of its streets and the delicacy of exquisite works of art, the melancholy ruins of its palaces in a Arabian-Sicilian style and the joyful charm of the gardens. You will visit he Dome, founded in 1086 where you will be able to admire a precious door of Barisano bronze from Trani divided into 54 panels. You will then proceed to visiting Villa Rufolo with its wonderful garden rich in exotic plants, pine trees and cypresses that seemed to Riccardo Wagner like it realised the dream of the magical garden of Klingsor in Parsifal and with its terrace from where you can enjoy a prodigious landscape that reaches Capo d’Orso. Not overlooking Villa Cimbrone with its great flower garden of beds of roses, camellias, hydrangeas and begonias and its belvedere in the most protruding point of a rocky outcrop. You will have lunch at the restaurant. In the afternoon you will take part in an excursion by private car for an exclusive visit to the Trinity Abbey of Cava dei Tirreni that is set in a romantic position under a cliff behind the walls of Corpo di Cava, in a severe circle of mountains. The Abbey was founded in 1011: it came to have jurisdiction over 500 abbeys, priories and churches between Rome and Palermo, other than having ships to trade with the East. Returning to the hotel, you will go through one of the most suggestive stretches of the Amalfi Coast, where the white of the houses clashes with the green of the citrus groves, palm trees and gardens: the stretch that takes you from Vietri sul Mare to Amalfi, the most ancient maritime republic of Italy and gloriously emulated by Genoa, Pisa and Venice. You will then have dinner and stay in the hotel overnight.

THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEM OF BOSCOREALE AND THE HEAVENLY GARDENS OF POMPEI. After breakfast at the hotel in the morning you will leave by private car for Boscoreale where you will visit an interesting Archaeological museum. You will then move on to Pompeii: about 2000 years ago it was being buried by a Vesuvian eruption and since then buildings, mosaics, paintings and sculptures, recovered from the ash, have never stopped surprising the entire world. You will be under the impression of finding yourself in front of a vaguely “heavenly” luxurious world. In particular the gardens, near the houses, are transformed into sumptuous colonnade gardens ornate by statues and often on the walls you will find exotic animals, like in the gardens belonging to princes of the east. You will enjoy lunch made of typical Pompeian recipes in a gourmet restaurant and then you will go on to Naples. In the company of our guide you will make a panoramic tour of the mythical city: Castle of Ovo, the Maschio Angioino, San Carlo Theatre. You will spend the night in a panoramic hotel on the waterfront, from where you will reach a romantic restaurant in the Borgo of fishermen to enjoy a fish and seafood dinner.

NAPLES: THE BEAUTY OF THE FUSION BETWEEN ARCHITECTURE AND NATURE. You will have breakfast at the hotel. Then together with the guide you will visit the greens of the Royal Garden, rich in rare and precious plants, and the Botanical Garden, established in 1807 with the decree of Joseph Bonaparte and that is now annex to the faculty of Science of University Studies. You will move on by private car to Capodimonte, where the Royal Palace and the Park will show you one of the happiest testimonies of the fusion between artifice and nature that characterises the whole architectural culture of the seven hundreds. The beauty of the place and the love for nature were after all the main reasons that pushed Charles of Borbone to choose, not long after his coronation as King of Naples, Capodimonte hill first as a game reserve then even as the new venue of the palace. You will admire the wonderful collections of art inherited by Charles at the death of his mother Elizabeth Farnese, you will visit the extraordinary park that constitutes a synthesis between the model of garden of the French and that of the English garden according to the program of Edmond Burke. You will have lunch at a gourmet restaurant where you will taste specialities from the Neapolitan cousin. During the afternoon, our guide will accompany you for a walk in the narrow straight that corresponds to the lower decuman of the Greek-Roman towns. Throughout its course you will penetrate through the most characteristic chiaroscuros of the heart of the ancient historic core of the city. In this very place, you will be able to admire some of the most beautiful and sumptuous baroque churches: S. Mary the Nova, with its double staircase, the Church of the New Jesus, the Church of Santa Chiara where the remains of the grave of Robert I of Angio’ are enshrined and where Domenico Vaccaro in the Cloister of the Clarisse realised the richest and most harmonious decoration of rustic garden of the ‘700s. You will enter the extraordinary garden that rises on the level of the portico with a low wall that is decorated by landscapes on majolica tiles. Then you will continue by visiting San Domenico Maggiore, San Severo chapel where you will meet the disquieting “Cristo Velato”, S. Gregorio Armeno, up to the San Gennaro Dome that was built thanks to Charles II of Angio’ at the end of the XIII century. You will return to the hotel in the evening, where you will dine and spend the night.

CASERTA: THE GREATNESS OF THE ROYAL PALACE AND THE PARK’S SUGGESTIVE ENGLISH GARDEN. You will have breakfast at the hotel and then leave by private car for Caserta where you will visit the Royal Palace of the Park. You will be amazed by the greatness of the proportions that represent one of the latest apologetic manifestations of the monarchy. But when our guide will lead you to the visit of the park, you will also enjoy the exciting beauty of the natural environment, true triumph of green and waters. Moving through winding paths that lead to small forests, you will find yourself between palms, cedars of Lebanon, plane trees, pine trees, cypresses and rare plants like the first ever camellia to be brought in Europe. Then you arrive to the 25 acres of the suggestive English Garden, formed in 1782 by the botanist Giovanni Andrea Graefer for Mary Caroline of Austria. Other than discovering a collection of high botanical interest and a naturalistic rarity miraculously escaped from the destruction of the original environment and the Mediterranean thicket, you will admire statues that come from the excavations of Pompeii and works of art like the statue of Venus kneeling of Tommaso Solari. Finally you will be surprised by the Aperia, great construction with a circular exedra shape.. perfectly inserted in the green curve of the hill. You will enjoy lunch at a typical restaurant. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the airport for the return flight or to the train station.
